He was predeceased by : his sisters, Rosella Gholson and Josephine Gregory. He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Eileen Blanton-Gholson (Bauer); his children, Joseph Bernard Gholson (Deborah K.) and Terry Eugene Blanton (Tracy Lynn); his grandchildren, Charles Kinstler Gholson (Jodi Lee), Nicholas Joseph Gholson (Katherine Joy), Chad Eugene Blanton (Kasi Michelle), Craig Allen Blanton (Aimee Lynn), Tabitha Eileen Keirns (Brandon Shane) and Ryah Jordan Stevens; his great grandchildren, Forrest Allen Blanton, Sydnie Eileen Keirns and Ellis Eugene Blanton; his former life partner Ethel Moreland; and his siblings, Deloris Stroble (David) and Shirley Whitted.
