We are sad to announce that, on January 5, 2026, at the age of 92, Marie E. Van Gundy of Prospect, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Marie's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Marie has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Merkle and Helen Merkle (Buechner); her husband Thomas; her son Michael Van Gundy; and her siblings, Fritz Merkle, Loretta Robertory and Cora Hunter.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Van Gundy (Barbara) of Florida, Mark Van Gundy (Roberta) of Delaware and Wendy Van Gundy (Van Goeforth) of Radnor; and her sister Mae Rohde of Green Bay, Wisconsin.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
