He is survived by: his wife Kari Carpenter; his children, Mick Carpenter (Amy) and Mindy Thornburg (Brad); his grandchildren, Brody, Sam, Eliza Carpenter, Vonn, Vaya and Voss Thornburg; and his siblings, Connie Bunting (Dave), Kim Carpenter (Brenda) and Monty Carpenter (Mary Lou). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
