We are sad to announce that, on December 8, 2025, at the age of 78, Joan C. Monroe of Ravenna, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Damkov and Esther Damkov (Basel); her foster mother Mary Kovolyan; her husband Robert Monroe; and her siblings, Carol Ann Stemple, Jerry and Jim Kovolyan.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Brna, Brian Brna and Tabitha Monroe (Meredith); her grandchildren, Haleigh Brna, Chris Brna, Allyson Brna and Riley Monroe-Holbrook; her stepgranddaughter Megan Monroe; her great grandchildren, Aura Jones and Sage Jones; her brothers, John Kovolyan (Jody) and Joe Kovolyan (Patricia); and her stepson Matthew Monroe (Kathleen).
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
