He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester Gauding and Violet Rose Gauding (Leibforth); his son Jeffrey A. Gauding; his sister Cherryl Smith; and his aunts and uncles, Robert, Ruth Leibforth, Elmer H. and Heather Leibforth.

He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Gauding (Decker); and his son Timothy R. Gauding (Andrea). He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ravenna Church of Christ (3897 Summit St, Ravenna, OH 44266). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Ft. Laurens Cemetery (10962 Fort Laurens Rd NW, Bolivar, OH 44612).
