She was predeceased by: her parents, Ella Simpson and Eddie Williams; her husband James Charley; her sons, Leroy W. Kendrick and Derrick S. Kendrick; her adoptive parents, Tillman Shuford and Doshie Shuford; and her siblings, Willie Albert Giddens, Ivory Shuford and Lorinne Payne.
She is survived by: her children, Carl Kendrick, Jr. of Ravenna, Ohio, Patricia Dennison (Cary) of Ravenna and Lila Griffin (Damon) of Tamarac, Florida; her daughter-in-law Paulette Kendrick of Ravenna, Ohio; her grandchildren, Pamela, Tyrell, Ivory, Derrick, Jr., David, Danny, Ricky, Scott, Tameka, Brandi, Carl III, Eddie, Karla, NaShay of Cary, Andre, Lester "Ray", Jasper, Michael and Alycia; her sisters, Marguerite Banks of Dolomite, Bernice Adams and Bertha Harris of Montgomery, Alabama; her brother-in-law Willie Kendrick of Huntsville; and her godson Darrell Williams. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
