He is survived by: his mother Linda Whitney (Knopp); his children, Amber Whitney (Chad Damian), Heather Diehl (Carl), Michael Whitney, Jr. (Christine Tran) and Cassidy Whitney (Matthew Smithburger); his granddaughter Ava Jean Smithburger; and his siblings, Linda Battaglia (Craig), Lisa Silloway (David) and Josh Whitney (Leslie).
