He is survived by: his mother Helene Speer; his close friend Shirley Hughes; his sons, Zachary Speer (Natalie) and Tyler Speer (Malia); his grandson Rowan Speer; his siblings, Silvia Schaefer (Steve), Corinna Phillips (Dave) and Rick Speer (Nikki); and his brothers-in-law, Ray Hughes (Denise), Mike Hughes (Vickie) and Jeff Hughes (Jill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
