She was predeceased by: her parents, John Kowal and Rose Kowal (Gierke); her husband Paul Smith Higbie of John's Lutheran Church; her sisters, Augusta Showalter, Genevieve Pever and Katherine Arnold; and her great grandchildren, Shane and Merl Higbie.
She is survived by: her sons, Thomas Higbie (Julia) of Jenera, Steve Higbie of Columbus and Gary Higbie (Jeanna Lopez) of Rawson; her grandchildren, Brianna Gerten (Jeremy) of Leipsic, Nathan Higbie (Shelby) of Jenera and Mitchell Higbie of Jenera; and her great grandchildren, Rylin, Jaylee, Jacksyn, Oliver Gerten, Mabel, Lily Higbie, Chase and Logan Higbie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Arlene to the New Hope United Methodist Church, Rawson.
