He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Schaffner and Helen Schaffner; his wife Janet Schaffner; and his siblings, Margaret Jean Higgins (Schaffner), Richard, Jack and David Schaffner.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Schaffner (Dawn) and Jeff Schaffner (Anne); his grandchildren, Sarah Reissig (Charles), Jacob, Charlie, Addison and Grant Schaffner; and his great grandchildren, Fiona and Piper Reissig. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
