He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kathy; his daughters, Lauren Edwards (Ben) and Jennifer Smilan (Mike Jones); his parents, Nancy Smilan and Carl Franklin Smilan; his siblings, Bruce (Mary), Paul, Teri Gorecki (Greg) and Mary Clark (Ray); and his in-laws, Chuck Taylor (Diane Daniel), Micky Keogh (John) and Judi Bunda (Ron). He was also cherished by many nephews and nieces.
