She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward "Nig" Gast and Mildred Gast (Hauke); her son Deanie Watters; and her brothers, Daniel and Timothy Gast.
She is survived by: her children, Jenene Waits of Aberdeen, Crystal Stanley of Danville, Kentucky and Dusty Bayless of North Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
