He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Yoakem and Pearl Yoakem (Merriman); his sons, Charles Yoakem and John David Yoakem; and his siblings, Buddy, Roy Yoakem and Mary Yoakem.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Arlene Burss; his son Bryan Yoakem; his siblings, Patrick Yoakem (Stacy) and Dottie Bonn; and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Decker (Mike) and David Burss (Teri).
