He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Trentel and Jane Trentel (Zurga); his brother James Trentel (Candi); his wife Susan Ella Trentel (Norris); his children, William Trentel (Janet), Michael Trentel (Mitzi), Donna Trentel, Mary Hall (Kenric), Maurice Trentel (Awa) and Catherine Trentel (Mike Griffin); his grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Anna Trentel, Katherine, Grey Trentel (Bethany), Matthew, Emma Hall, Youssouf (Thiam), Mekaih and Muhammad Trentel; his great grandchild Aviana Johnson; and his cousin Elaine Brewster.
