He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Leonard Whelan and Marie Carrigan Whelan; his wife Sylvia Cary Whelan; his children, Jack, Marcia Whelan of Brecksville, OH, Bill Whelan (Jennifer) of Medina, OH and Richard Whelan (Mary Jo); and his grandchildren, Daniel Castro, Jack and Robyn Whelan.
