He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Cox and Rachel "Betty" Cox (Payne); and his siblings, Marvin Cox and Martha Hayes. He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Cox (Linda), Russell Cox, Mary Cox, Matty Riley (Jim) and Tammie Clark; and his close friend Barbara Thomas.
