He was predeceased by : his parents, Jacob Brossart and Theresa Brossart (Rauen); his siblings, Audrey Franks (Earl) and Clete Brossart (Mary); and his son-in-law Jay McGrane.

He is survived by : his significant other Mary Rita (Bill); and his children, John (Karen), Theresa (James Saba), Joseph (Kathleen), James (Julie), Michael (Amy), Noel (Eric Neyman), Andrew (Kathleen) and Sarah (Dominique Tardivon). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
