He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Badertscher and Dorene Badertscher (Elwood); his wife Margaret Cox; his sons, Mark and John Badertscher; his siblings, Bud Badertscher and Betty Allmon; and his grandson Luke Coder.

He is survived by: his sons, Chuck Badertscher (Melinda) and Doug Badertscher (Stephanie); his daughters-in-law, Heather and Melissa Badertscher; his siblings, Jonn, Bill Badertscher, Donna Binkley and Alyx Akers; and his grandchildren, Dustin Badertscher (Ciera), Courtney Popiel (Matt), Logan Mortimer (Connor), Kaitlyn Ireland (Zach), Taylor Sheldon (David), Erika Brooks (Alex Tarr), Jacob Badertscher, Lucas Badertscher and Lindsay Rose (Sage). He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
