He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Parm" Parmer and Lois Parmer (Dunson); his wife Beverly "Bev" Parmer (Smith); his brothers, Richard "Dick" Parmer of West Mansfield and Robert "Bob" Parmer of Kermit, TX; and his grandson Shaun.

He is survived by: his children, Sherry Smith of Lima, Cathy Harless of Bellefontaine, Kristi Shaw (Andy) of West Mansfield, Steve "Paul" Smith (Sarah) of Kenton, David Smith (Kathleen) of Huntsville and Sean Parmer (Holly) of Bellefontaine. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory (5591 US-68, West Liberty, OH 43357).
