He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Fairchild and Essie B. McClain Fairchild; his daughter Cheryl Gilbert; his son-in-law Isaiah Skeens; his siblings, James O. Fairchild, Amos R. Fairchild, David Fairchild, Oralene Smith and Betty Fornshell; his grandson Nathan Smith; and his great grandchildren, Camden Fairchild, Michael Gilbert and Josh Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Zula Fornshell Fairchild; and his children, Debbie Bruning (Jim) of Mason, Becky Osborn (Gene Boldman) of Wilmington, Bill Fairchild Jr. (Sandy) of Clarksville, Beverly Rasnic (Craig) of Lynchburg, Carol Garcia (Michael) of North Manchester, Jennifer Patterson (Jeff) of Sabina, Ruth Rhonemus (Dave) of Lynchburg and Joyce Skeens of Sabina, Ohio. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
