He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester B. Mitchell and Mary Rebecca Creditt Mitchell; his wife Geraldine Bennington Mitchell; and his siblings, Betty Brown, Emmagene Palmer, Janet Dearth and James Edward Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Neal DeWitt (Juleah), Joni Greene (Gerrie), Tim Mitchell (Mary Ann Morris) and Lori Saffell (Terri Smith); and his sisters, Norma Lee Farley, Mary Lou Downing, Joy Vance, Vivian Lemmings and Nancy Piatt (Carl). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
