He was predeceased by: his parents, August Hegemier and Esther Hegemier (Roediger); his daughter Janice Hegemier Diaz; and his brothers, Dave Hegemier, Donald Hegemier, Roger Hegemier and William Hegemier.
He is survived by: his close friend Kimberly Wiehe-Kaylor of Saint Marys; his daughters, Lisa Hegemier of Cleveland and Lori Shellabarger (Donald) of Mendon; his stepchildren, Steve Fortney (Kim) of Yukon, Oklahoma, Ruth Henry (Theodore) of Wapakoneta and Jerry Tangeman (Daniella) of Sidney, Ohio; his son-in-law Marco Diaz of Brooklyn; his grandchildren, Daniel Shellabarger (Brand), Abby Laffin (Grant), Faith Shellabarger (Cameron Hilty) and Alexander Diaz; and his great grandchildren, Aubree Shellabarger, Hudson Laffin and Mitch Shellabarger.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (1605 Celina Rd, St Marys, OH 45885). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
