He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" J. Hinton of Columbus, Ohio; his parents, Wilfred Cruea and Hilda Cruea (Barga); his brother Ronald L. Cruea of Troy, Ohio; and his grandson Joseph "Joey" R. Seger of Pleasant Hill, Ohio..
He is survived by: his former wives, Laura Seger (Ronald) of Pleasant Hill and Penny Cantrell (Russell) of Urbana, Ohio; his stepdaughters, Colleen Fitzpatrick of Connecticut and Pamela S. Plunket (James) of Maine; his siblings, Sheila Gold of Sidney and James Cruea (Mary) of Troy; his grandson Brian Seger of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; and his pets, Linus and Miss Kitty. He is also survived by one niece and several nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Atkins, Shively & Vernon Funeral Home (216 S Springfield St, St Paris, OH 43072). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (121 E Walnut St, St Paris, OH 43072).
In lieu of flowers, a tax-deductible contribution in Frederick's name may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
