It is with sadness that the passing of Richard Paul Pond of Saint Paris, Ohio is shared. Richard, born on April 24, 1937, passed away on September 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hubert and Roberta Pond (Walters); his son Brad Pond; and his brothers, James, Roger and Kenneth Pond.
He is survived by: his wife Dolly Pond (Stickley); his daughters, Gina Roseberry, Teena Kite (Greg) and Lori Messner (David); his grandchildren, Merritt Roseberry, Austin Roseberry, Brittany Hickey, Jordan Kite, Logan Messner and Levi Messner; and his siblings, Merlin Pond, JoAnn O'Brien (Terry) and Janet Coleman (Larry). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews.
A memorial gathering was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home (216 S Springfield St, St Paris, OH 43072). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Atkins Shively & Vernon Funeral Home (216 S Springfield St, St Paris, OH 43072). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Myrtle Tree Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Paris United Methodist Church or Pond Family Memorial Scholarship Fund.
