He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Hanlin and Mildred Hanlin (Funkhouser); his grandparents, Carl and Ida Funkhouser; his brothers, Mike Hanlin, Butch Dressler and Spike Dressler; and his brother-in-law Ken Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hanlin (Kauffman); his children, Duane Burnside, William "Billy" Hanlin, Jr. (Robin) and Tracey Hanlin; his stepsons, Todd Algren and Trent Algren (Denise); his sister Cheri Butler; his sister-in-law Kim Hanlin; and his grandchildren, Danielle Burnside (Ashley), Blake Hanlin (Cassie), Catherine Kiefer (Josh), Wiatt Hanlin (Anna), Dalton Hanlin (Claire), Jimmy Powell (Rachael), Cameron Rohr, Hannah Algren and Caitlin Algren. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Champaign County Cancer Association.
