He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald W. Murphy and Betty L. Murphy (Ernest); his wife Donna Lou Gault; his son William Murphy; and his brother Phillip Murphy.
He is survived by: his sons, Darrell Murphy (Kristina) of Portsmouth, Donald Murphy (Kimberly Izenour) of Damascus and James Murphy (Patricia) of Salem; his grandchildren, Andrea (Ryan), Jessica (Ryan), Ashley (Marcus), Casey (Jarod), Ryan (Heidi), Kole (Abby), Morgan, Kaylee, Allyssa, Allison and Erin; his great grandchildren, Adalynn, Maverick, Wyatt and Harper; and his sister-in-law Rhonda Murphy of Malvern.
