He is survived by: his children, Susan Haenisch (Gary) of Cambridge, Kathy Messenger (Danny) of Barnesville and Jeff Eschbaugh (Donna) of Salesville; his sister Mary Carpenter of Barnesville; his grandchildren, Ben Messenger (Becky Pittman), Jessie Carpenter (Jerry), Joe Urdak (Lisa), Amanda Eddy (Ryon), Michael Messenger (Letisha), Adam Messenger (Sammi), Emily Kennedy (Heath), Tyler Eschbaugh (Mackenzie), Justin King (Jolene), Jason King (Kierstin) and Jessica King; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Garrett, Cole Eddy, Elijah and Blake Messenger.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thorn-Black Funeral Home Inc. (291 Pike St, Quaker City, OH 43773). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
