It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harvey Lee Nicholson of Sandusky, Ohio, who passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Nicholson and Adella Nicholson; his daughter Bettie Ann McLaurin; his sisters, Cherrie Nicholson, Eloise Calvert, Jessie Ada McNeil, Sarah Brady, Helen Gowdy and Fannie Pearl Ford; and his great-niece Latrisha Gowdy-Sowers.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Nicholson; his children, Carlton Nicholson of Killeen, Coranita Burt (Melvin) of Galloway and Harvey Nicholson (Elizabeth) of Russell, Mississippi; his brothers, Reverend Eugene Nicholson (Betty) of New Orleans, Louisiana. and James Henry Nicholson of New Orleans, Louisiana.; his godson John "John John" Stevens; and his close friends, Dominick Esposito, Larry Aaron, Norman (NL), Reverend Franklin Churchwell, John Klenk, Tom Shreve and Mike Martucci. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church (1920 Shelby St, Sandusky, OH 44870). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
