He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Johnson Borders, Sr. and Ruth Carrin Borders; his wife Katherine "Kitty" Collins Borders; and his brother-in-law Roger M. Collins, III. He is survived by: his children, Jack Borders (Sarah) and Kathy Zirkle (Larrick); his grandchildren, Joanie Borders (James), Drew Borders (Nori), Carrin Gordon (Jason), Andrew Zirkle (Ali), John Mark Zirkle (Sydney), Daniel Zirkle, Devin Grunden, Caleb Grunden and Aiden Grunden; his great grandchildren, AJ Zirkle and Ozzie Zirkle; and his sisters-in-law, Sarah Davenport (Lawrence) and Joy Collins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at 211 E Monroe St, Sandusky, OH 44870.
