She was predeceased by: her mothers, Nora Wesley Groves and Mary Belle Watson; her daughter Karen J. Coleman; her grandchildren, Shakla Lorine Oakes and Omar Rashad Oakes; and her sister Lucinda Caffey.
She is survived by: her children, Lucinda Coleman (Charles) of Sandusky and Eric L. Coleman (Toya) of Sandusky, Ohio; her siblings, Charlie Earl Groves, Peter Groves, Morris Groves, Flora D. Groves and Cecilia Groves; her close friend Elder Marietta Johnson; and her children, Jennifer Lash, Janet Croom, Beverlee Holt and Donovan Johnson. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church (224 Dixie Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
