He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Wesley and Edith Mae Smith (Trumbauer); his son Christopher P. Smith; and his son-in-law Tim Ahner. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Smith (Barone); his children, Angela Kurtz (Dan) of Sandusky, Rosalyn Ahner of Sandusky, Scot Smith (Jodie) of Kelleys Island and Rick Smith (Melissa) of Cicero, IN; his daughter-in-law Christine Smith (Dahs); his grandchildren, Carol Whidden (Clay), Gina, Brian Kurtz, Daniel Ahner, Michael Ahner (Samantha), Janie Ahner, David Ahner, Anne Smith, Carmen Banjoko (Gbenga), Nick, Katie, Liz Smith, Hannah Gundlach (Matt), Samantha and Jacob Smith; his great grandchildren, Aryanna, Tim, Isabell, William, Jack, Wes, Cecelia, Caleb, Evelyn and Odin; his sister-in-law Donna Kelley of Sandusky; and his niece Sue Alexander (Mark) of Cape May, NJ. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
