He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Ward and Grace Ellen Newcomb (Vandevander); and his siblings, Beatrice Dove, Roxie Barry, Gene Newcomb and Albert Thomas Newcomb.

He is survived by: his daughters, Floda Herren of Anquilla, Lorraine Greiner of Alliance and Doreen Freeman; and his sisters, Helen Arbaugh of Circleville and Lois Long of Aberdeen, Maryland.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
