He is survived by: his sister Lucille Montgomery of Cleveland; and his sibling's children, Fred Montgomery Jr. (Joann), Charlene Montgomery, Lucille Holloway and Roberta Montgomery. He is also survived by his family and was known by his great, great nieces and nephews as Uncle Grandpa.
