He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard C. Runser and Anne O'Hara; his close friend Betty Ann Fetterman; his brothers, John and Bobby; and his grandson Jed Runser.

He is survived by : his children, Richard Runser (Victoria), Judy Vesley (Chris), David Runser (Debbie) and Tiffany Caldararo (John); his grandchildren, David Runser (Hallie), Malachi Griffin (Adriana), Gabriella Watson (Sean) and Zechariah Griffin; his great grandchildren, Kayla Runser, Josh Runser, Troy Watson and Lucas Watson; and his great great grandchild Jordon Carey.
