She was predeceased by : her parents, Velma Auble Birkbeck and William George Birkbeck. She is survived by : her husband Don Rense; her son Mark S. Rense of Chesterland, Ohio; her granddaughters, Sarah E. Rense of New York and Allison O. Rense of Boston, Massachusetts; and her adoptive son Bruce Koscheck of Parma, Ohio..

She was also known for her ability to write lyrics, and she performed in many skits and shows for charity over the years.
