He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. "Jim" Hughes and Nora Elizabeth "Betty" Hughes (Pease); his sister Linda Caulfield (Richard); his mother-in-law Nettie Montgomery; and his in-laws, Inez Armstrong (Bill), Janice Bryson, Bill Montgomery (Aree), Jean Ann Hughes and Mike Kirkpatrick.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Montgomery Hughes; his sons, Josh Hughes (Trisha) of Lexington and Tom Hughes (Laura) of Woodburn, IN; his grandchildren, Madilyn, Griffin, Carliann, Hayden and Claire; his siblings, James Hughes, Mary Dodge (Greg), Ellen Kirkpatrick and Rose Hughes; and his in-laws, Duke Montgomery (Cindy), Silas Montgomery (Cathy), Chuck Montgomery (Sherri), Lou Bennett (Casey) and John Bryson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
