He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Schaub and Mary Schaub (Smith); his sister Betty Barnett; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Clevenger and Chuck Dean Jr..

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Schaub (Dean); his children, Connie Thompson of Toledo, Tonya Schaub of Texas, Todd Schaub (Jeanette) of Willard, James Schaub II (Brenda) of Shiloh and Jeff Schaub (Amanda) of Shiloh; his grandchildren, Jessica, Katy, Brandon, Derrick, Brett, Logan, Alysse, Chayce, Grant, Blake, Carter, Hunter, Josh, Alexis, Claudia, Charles, Taylor, Zac and Noah; his sister Annie Shultz of Galion; and his sister-in-law Bobbie Clevenger of Shelby.
