He was predeceased by : his father Terry Boyd; his wife Amanda Johnson; his grandparents, Calvin and Mable Buffington; and his aunts, Maggie Brown and Vickie Cole.

He is survived by : his mother Melody Mable Boyd (Buffington); his children, Ty Johnson (Joanna) and Sheri Johnson (Michael Clemons); his grandchildren, Tilly, Holly Johnson, Kaelynn, Riley Plotner and Marlowe Winstead; and his siblings, Shannon Johnson, Roy Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Kevin Boyd and Miley Boyd. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
