He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Carpenter and Mary Maxine Carpenter (Link); his son Eddie Francis, Jr.; and his brothers, Gilbert Lee Carpenter and Charles Ray Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Carpenter (Tackett); his children, Loretta Branham, Rhonda Arredondo, Missy Carpenter and Ryan Francis (Jacquie); his grandchildren, Josh Carpenter, Kirsteen Marshall, Kaitlyn Arredondo, Deborah Arredondo, Rebekah Arredondo, Micah Arredondo, Hallie Dawson (Dan), Austin Francis (Lauren), Raylin Francis and Layne Francis; his great grandchildren, Baylie, Levi, Raynor, Landon, Kai, Ayden, Allie, AmaLee, Danny Jr., Donnie and Scottie; and his great great grandchild Malayiah. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Penwell Funeral Home (168 W Main St, Shelby, OH 44875). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
