He is survived by: his daughter Casey McCarty of Columbus; his granddaughters, Avigael and Rivkah McCarty of Columbus; his niece Mary Riter (Dwight) of Troy; his nephew Fred Luther (Sheila) of Dayton; and his brother-in-law Dick Luther of Troy.

He and i had some great times when he worked for me at Emerson. used to talk Browns and Ohio State football and all kinds of interesting topics. very much enjoyed Ray's company and especially his sense of humor. we would start each day with cup of coffee and some light banter. i also want to express the appreciation of Emerson for all Ray's efforts and my appreciation for the years of service he gave me while i managed the tax department.”
