We bid farewell to Helen Straus of Smithfield, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 11, 2025 at the age of 99. Helen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luka Delich and Evica Krtinich Delich; her husband Fred; her sisters, Mildred Wukelich, Mary Zelich, Delores Pasquarella and Naida Viltro; and her son-in-law Burt Bacharach.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jayme Brady (Patrick) of Millersport, OH, Jodee Verhovec (Julius) of Smithfield, OH and Jane Bacharach of Aspen, CO; her grandchildren, Karey Ralph (Anthony) of Lewis Center, OH, Amie Crunelle (Jonathan) of Lewis Center, OH, Oliver Bacharach of Aspen, CO and Raleigh Bacharach-Hope (Austin) of Aspen, CO; her great grandchildren, Gianna Ralph and Harper Crunelle; her siblings, Dorothy Delich Bossert of Steubenville, OH and John Delich of Palm Harbor, FL; and her sister-in-law Mary Jane Ighnat of Toronto, OH.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church (528 N 4th St, Steubenville, OH 43952).
