Michael Gasser Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Gasser of Smithville, Ohio, who passed away on January 16, 2026 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth E. Gasser and Thelma Keltz Schall; his daughter Emily Newbegin; his stepfather John Schall; his parents-in-law, Donald and Verna Marthey; and his brother-in-law Jeff Marthey.

He is survived by: his wife Pam Gasser (Marthey); his daughter Carli Gump (Frank Geiser) of Smithville; his grandchildren, Patrick Newbegin, Emerson and Oaklyn Gump; his siblings, Terry Gasser (Deb) of Wooster and Larry Dean Gasser of Richmond, Indiana; and his brothers-in-law, Greg Marthey (Nancy) of Wooster and Tim Marthey of Wooster. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
