Michael Eugene VanHook Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Eugene VanHook of Smithville, Ohio, born in Akron, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 30, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Robert Van Hook; and his siblings, Robin McClain and James Van Hook. He is survived by: his wife Collette Van Hook; his daughters, Amanda Yoder (Matt), Melissa Schmitt (Chris), Julie Stantial and Melanie Stantial; his grandchildren, Eden Boyle, Alaura Yoder, Michael Yoder, Elizabeth Yoder and Harper Schmitt; his mother Jean Van Hook; and his siblings, Pam Van Hook, Debbie Rardin, Marsha Van Hook, Joyce Peirce, Paul Ward and Deb Deem. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness (3233 Geyers Chapel Rd, Wooster, OH 44691).
