It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David James VanGompel of Solon, Ohio, born in DePere, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy VanGompel and Kenneth VanGompel; and his siblings, James and Jeanna. He is survived by: his wife Connie of Solon; his children, Jeffrey (Tami), Jessica Wellwood (Dan) and Michael (Emily); his grandchildren, Tyler, Brooklyn, Jack, Natalie, Matthew, Betsy, Hazel and Justin; and his sisters, MaryLou Kramer (Bill) and Sue Ascher (Dan).

Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home (33375 Bainbridge Rd, Solon, OH 44139). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
