She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gustav Gertz and Wanda Gertz; her husband Harry Zerull; her sons, David (Lisa), Timothy (Susan) and Christopher (Donna); her grandchildren, Anne, Scott, Emily, Andrew and Abigail; her great grandchildren, Adeline and Julian; and her sister Milda Bell. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

She cared for Harry through his struggle with Alzheimer's Disease until his passing in 2006.

People that - even if gone - still influence their smiles, their laughter, their life, and their love. I may have only met Violet a few times, but I have been able to whiteness firsthand the beauty and joy she helped bring into this world through my husband, his family, and our son, Julian. For that, I am forever grateful. Thank you Violet.”
