He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Murphy and Marie Wilson Murphy; his wife Dorothy V. Giffin Murphy; his granddaughter Heather Thompson; and his siblings, Geraldine Lemon, Imogene Stanford, Margaret Aichele, James, Clifford and Donald Murphy.
He is survived by: his daughter Amy Murphy (Teresa); his grandchildren, Kari Doughty, Laci Woods (Josh), Vincent Mattox and Karen Castaldi (Simone); his great grandchildren, Alexis Russell (Allen), Abigail Doughty, Gaige Doughty, Caiden Russell, Chloe Woods, Zach Graves, Amber Adams (Kevin), Tessa (Korey), Rylee and Landon Woods; his great great grandchildren, Kyler Russell-Blair and Ezzie Adams; and his pet Lilly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
