He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his daughters, Dawna Hosey (Christopher), Tammy Westenbarger (Michael), Linda Kaye Denton and Jennifer Chapman (Luke); his grandchildren, Brenna Hosey (Cole Brown), Connor Hosey (Meghan), Maegen Westenbarger, Savannah Westenbarger, Mikaela Davis (James), Hunter Westenbarger, Rachael Zambito-Johnson (Cory Johnson) and Olivia Chapman; his great grandchildren, Kendal Hartman (Nick), Sofia Seesholtz, Blake Shepard, Beau, Rose and Daisy Johnson; his great great grandchildren, Lincoln and Katie Hartman; and his brother Michael Denton (Alice). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to FairHoPe Hospice/ The Pickering House, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio.

“During Christmas time when his wife saw a huge Grinch blow-up in our yard she told us that everyone called him "Don the Grinch." That gave us an idea—while they were out for the day, We moved the Grinch to their yard. When Pat and Don came home, Don seen it and said, "I know who did that, and I’m gonna shoot her!" We all had the biggest laugh over it, and it became one of those stories that never got old. He is remembered for his ability to infuse even the simplest moment into a smile. God Bless”
