In loving memory of Stepherene Stokes of South Charleston, Ohio, who departed this world on June 9, 2025 at the age of 88. Stepherene leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. As we bid Stepherene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Stepherene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kyle Cassidy and Lula Cassidy; and her husband Michael W. Stokes. She is survived by: her children, Vicki Capper, Joann Gamble (Kenny), Teresa Nickell, Randy DeLong and Danny DeLong (Peggy); and her siblings, Myrtle Gardener and Kyle Cassidy Jr. (Hilda). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home (1002 E High St, Springfield, OH 45505). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
