He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Elden and Georgie Nell Carter (Cox); and his siblings, Cecil, Gary Carter, Gail Morris and Patsy Greene.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Carter (Davis); his sons, James Scott Carter (Jennifer) of Greenfield and Alan Keith Carter (Katie) of South Salem; his grandchildren, Levi (Kelsey), Taylor (Kody), Kalen, Abby and Jackson; his great grandchildren, Ivan, Waylon, Colleen and Oaklynn Rayne; and his siblings, Grace Bartley of Hillsboro, Denise Carter of Hillsboro and Keith Carter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
