He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Sheffler and Lily Sheffler (Stairs); his siblings, Robert "Bud" Sheffler (Rose) and Dorothy Nelson (Rich); and his granddaughter Athena Sheffler.
He is survived by: his wife Lola; his children, Tina Cook (Larry), Laura Box (Jeff), Joseph Sheffler and Eli Closson (Amy); and his grandchildren, Heather Ebbecke (Robert), Mitchell Cook, Logan Cook, Lily Closson and Chloe Closson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 9:00 AM and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home (1002 E High St, Springfield, OH 45505). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery (4781 S Charleston Clifton Rd, Springfield, OH 45502).
